My name is Rachel. I work full time as a Capital Asset Clerk and I have been sewing for many years. I enjoy sewing, machine embroidery and crafting and try to do these as much as possible.
I am excited to review the Cuffed Boys Pants pattern by Whimsy Couture Sewing Patterns. This pattern is intended to be used with woven cotton, chambray, lightweight denims, corduroy and flannel. This tutorial is very thorough and detailed with step by step photos. This pattern is designed for all sewing levels and I feel would be very easy for a beginner sewer to follow.
The tutorial and pattern downloaded and printed easily. All the pattern pieces lined up perfectly and are clearly marked for each size. The pattern contains a list of required materials, list of suitable fabrics and the seam allowance needed. It also has a sizing chart that shows inseam measurements as well as the amount of fabric needed for each piece. A large range of sizes are included in this pattern: NB – 10. You will be able to use this pattern for years. The cuff on these pants is not only for a visual aspect, it also provides extra leg length once the pants would normally get too short. The pockets on these pants are large and deep so your little boy could put all kinds of treasures in them. These pants have an elastic waist.
I made these pants for my grandson and embroidered him a shirt to match. He loves Thomas the train so I tried to choose the colors from the train. I love the way these pants fit and look on him. The only thing I plan to do different is to make the crotch longer. My grandson is taller than most kids his age and these pants were a little tight in the crotch. I love the fact that this pattern is so easy to make and doesn’t take much time at all. I have ordered fabric to make two more pair. One pair for my grandson and another pair to put on my Etsy site. I also plan to embroidery a Fall design on shirts to match them.
